Microsoft Unveils New Copilot AI Tools at Ignite Event
During the Microsoft Ignite 2023 event, Microsoft announced the expansion of its Copilot AI suite with three new offerings: Copilot for Azure, Copilot for Service, and Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides. The company also introduced Copilot Studio, a platform for connecting Copilot for Microsoft 365 to third-party data.
Copilot for Azure, now available in preview, is Microsoft’s chat-driven assistant for cloud customers. It provides suggestions for app configurations, helps with troubleshooting, and identifies potential issues and solutions. Leveraging the power of generative AI models, Copilot for Azure pulls knowledge from technical documentation and users’ individual setups and policies to provide insights into workloads, infrastructure, and cloud functionality.
Copilot for Service, designed for customer service use cases, integrates with CRM software such as Dynamics 365, Salesforce, and ServiceNow. It can answer sales-related questions, offer next-step suggestions, and provide account and case information from CRM systems. Microsoft plans to enhance Copilot for Service with proactive recommendations and the ability to automate tasks like case wrap-ups and meeting scheduling.
Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides, targeted at frontline workers, taps into generative AI to summarize information and provide overlays on equipment. It can answer questions about specific components and guide workers through maintenance procedures. The service utilizes technical documentation, IoT sensors, service records, and training content to provide accurate and helpful information.
To make Copilot products more extensible for business customers, Microsoft introduced Copilot Studio. This web-based platform allows enterprises to connect Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Copilot for Service to their own data using prebuilt connectors or custom-built ones. Customers can also create and publish their own tailored copilots for unique business processes and scenarios.
With the launch of these new Copilot offerings and Copilot Studio, Microsoft aims to enhance the capabilities of its generative AI technologies and provide customers with more customization options. The company plans to continually add new skills and features based on user feedback and requirements.
